Cattle prices have been climbing to new heights on an almost week-to-week basis recently. This week, the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) reached a new record of 988¢/kg, closing in on the 1,000¢/kg mark.

Another week, another EYCI record, with the indicator hitting 975¢/kg as more vealer cattle were offered. Seven saleyards averaged over 1,000¢/kg for young cattle on the back of increased vealer throughput. The weather also continues to drive restocker demand, helping push the prices up.
