Summary

SEA is an emerging market and there are opportunities to support existing and new businesses penetrate and grow their footprint in the region. Within SEA, MLA hosted regional tradeshows (FHA) and seminars to connect trade and provide up-to-date information on market situation and channel opportunities.

The outcome of MLA's tradeshow attendance included more than 250 online attendees attending the 2021 FHA Trade Webinar and 23 exporters exhibiting in FHA 2022, with >75% stakeholder satisfaction in trade events, forums and collaborative activities. Additional MLA resources were placed in priority emerging markets of Vietnam and Thailand. High level of trade and distributor participation at MLA activities such as retail promotions, cooking and butchery competitions, and Great Steak Escape also occurred.

Objectives

This project covers the reporting period of 2020 – 2025 and addresses
the following International Markets priorities for the South Asia region:

  • Priority 1: Build brand equity for Australian red meat amongst targeted
    consumers.
  • Priority 2: Increase the ‘physical availability’ of Australian beef,
    lamb and goatmeat products.
  • Priority 3: Cultivate commercial investment to grow overall sales and
    marketing presence for Australian red meat products.
