Summary
A materiality assessment is the process of identifying and prioritising sustainability topics important to the continued success of the Australian sheep industry. The Sheep Sustainability Framework (SSF) last conducted a materiality assessment in 2020. As the industry's operating environment has significantly changed, this project was initiated to refine and update the initial material topics identified in 2020.
Objectives
The objective of this project was to identify and prioritise sustainability topics relevant to the Australian sheep industry, through desktop review and extensive stakeholder engagement. In addition, this materiality assessment was conducted using a 'double materiality' approach in accordance with accepted international standards.
