Summary
Project Support Officers (PSO) have delivered below milestones:
• PSO provided support for the LSM and LEP team in organising and delivering ESCAS-related projects.
• PSO provided support in organising and delivering animal welfare-related projects during the outbreak of FMD and LSD and helped coordinate activities with Forum AWO.
• PSO communicates with LSM and another LEP team daily and help to ensure that targets are met.
• PSO assists LSM and MLA contractors with the LEP program and specific projects.
• PSO has provided valuable support in organising and delivering LEP projects, not only around animal welfare matters but also in market intelligence.
• PSO provides minutes meetings and communication briefs for the meetings.
• PSO complies with MLA policies and LEP activity procedures.
Objectives
1. Support the livestock services manager in providing technical and operational support for livestock exporters and their importers in Indonesia to enable them to comply effectively and efficiently with the Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) regulations.
2. Support the Livestock Services Manager in organising and delivering in-market programs that build and maintain supply chain compliance capacity that meets ESCAS requirements through solid relationships with exporters/importers and relevant government and related stakeholders and authorities.
3. Support the Livestock Services Manager in organising and delivering in-market programs that build, develop, and expand livestock businesses to achieve broader market access, creating value for consumers and capturing value for stakeholders.
4. Liaise regularly with Indonesian government and industry representatives to maintain strong relations to support the timely information flow and identify opportunities (workshops/forums) to improve awareness and understanding of animal welfare initiatives and Australia’s ESCAS requirements.
5. Upon request from stakeholders, through LS Manager, to provide services for ESCAS approved supply chain and provide a report to LS Manager in a timely manner.
6. Report any meeting summary to the LS Manager.
7. Provide an activity summary report and other related documents to the LS Manager monthly.
8. For overall procedures, refer to MLA policy and LEP Activity Procedures.
