Summary
This project was to identify and record the implementation and ongoing operational issues and solutions, and the indicative costs, associated with the introduction of mandatory mob based movement requirements for sheep movements through saleyards. This was be undertaken by the development of three pilot sites for the installation of the necessary software, hardware and operational procedures.

The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) is Australia's system for the identification and traceability of cattle, sheep and goats. NLIS reflects Australia's commitment to biosecurity and food safety and provides a competitive advantage in a global market.
