Summary

This project was to support Meat and Livestock Australia with the development of the Electronic National Vendor Declaration (eNVD) system and support field trials conducted by software vendors through the implementation of a stakeholder engagement plan.

Objectives

1. Finalisation of the conceptual data model and related supporting documents.
2. Finalisation of the technical stakeholder engagement plan.
3. Maximise software provider/in-house system participation in the development of the eNVD system and the overall eNVD program through clear communication of key messages and prompt response to questions asked.
4. Gather information on and estimate the anticipated market coverage of participating eNVD systems, so that MLA can make informed and quantifiable (where possible) recommendations to SAFEM EAT on next steps related to this topic.

Benefits to industry

The National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) is Australia's system for the identification and traceability of cattle, sheep and goats. NLIS reflects Australia's commitment to biosecurity and food safety and provides a competitive advantage in a global market.
