Summary

This project covered capital expenditure to deliver a short-term development to support the new development and functionality required for the Livestock Data Link (LDL) to ensure continual ingestion of Meat Standards Australia (MSA) data. MSA data is a key component of the LDL value proposition. A re-design of the “NextGen” API has also recently been completed and released by MSA.

Objectives

  1. Develop a new component to download MSA NextGen data in AWS.
  2. Improve existing data loading ETL (SSIS) to import the NextGen data into LDL database.
  3. Modify LDL website according to the updated table structure.
  4. Support the internal and external end to end testing.
  5. Code clean up in LDL solution and remove dependency to existing MSA data source.
  6. Setup CI/CD pipeline and monitoring for the new introduced component.
  7. Documentation and handover for all the development task.

Benefits to industry

This investment enabled Livestock Data Link to continue as an industry service to Australian red meat producers. Livestock Data Link enables carcase compliance and feedback data and information to be provided from processors to producers.
