Summary

This CMA is to support SAFEMEAT in convening and funding a field trip for a high level delegation of government officials to view livestock traceability systems in the field.

Objectives

The trip is aimed at providing relevant senior executive staff from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry with a first-hand, in-depth understanding of the livestock traceability and integrity system in operation from the farm to the processing establishment, including where improvements are urgently required. It will provide a valuable opportunity for participating SAFEMEAT industry members to speak directly to senior departmental staff about livestock traceability challenges and promote SAFEMEAT’s work on livestock traceability reform. The CMA will cover accommodation costs, bus hire and some meals.
