Summary
MLA participated in a Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF)'s Australia Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Non Tariff Measures (NTM) Business Working Group on Agriculture and Food.
The working group included industry associations and commercial entities operating in Australia / ASEAN and identified, discussed the impact of, prioritised and developed action plans for the mitigation of NTMs applicable to Australian red meat exports destined for the ASEAN region.
Objectives
Two MLA projects were commissioned to support the working group:
- G.MAG.1904 supported the technical access for sheepmeat
- G.MAG.1903 supported the technical access for beef.
Benefits to industry
This research provides the basis for ongoing collaborative Australian Government and industry NTM alleviation.
