Summary

A fact sheet summarising native plants with anti-methanogenic potential in north-western rangelands of Australia.

Benefits to industry

The ability to encourage cultivation and grazing pressure on nutritious pastures with low methane traits may play a significant role in direct emissions reductions of the red meat sector. The results of this plant survey also sought to identify typically non-palatable native species with anti-methanogenic properties which could be candidates for active-compound extraction for additives and supplements.
