P.PSH.1184 - ACC’s Collaborative Innovation Strategies and Co-Innovation Manager

A primary focus of the Co-Innovation manager role has been higher level oversight of development and implementation of Power BI across ACC operations to provide information and make real time business decisions more accessible.

Summary

The project has resulted in end-to-end data analytics and reporting systems to assist real time decision making for the farm, factory and marketing functions. These specific roles are managed by a team of three, known as the data lab. As a result of this project, real time carcase measurement and grading capabilities are being implemented at ACC.

Objectives

The objective is to develop and implement ACC’s red meat high value growth strategies in both the domestic and global markets. The majority of the program’s focus is to be on digital solutions that create and capture value that is beyond horizon one business as usual.

Key findings

Significant development of advanced digital capability evidenced by >100 business analytics dashboards used for daily business decisions that are constantly being refined.

Benefits to industry

ACC is currently integrating their data capture and analytical capabilities linking all their systems together to enable them to have improved real time reporting along the entire supply chain to make better informed business management decisions.

MLA action

MLA will publish the final report and support the final Data Lab projects that will culminate in show videos that outline the steps taken and the lessons learnt as the business progresses towards a digital driven enterprise.

Future research

Implementation of Objective Management systems at plant to grade carcases into the chiller and the development of predictive powers to make better and more efficient business decisions.
