Summary

Grazing Matcher™ aims to improve productivity and profitability of red meat producers by enabling them to utilise their pasture more efficiently.

A better understanding of pasture production and how-to better match: grazing pressure/speed, fertiliser regimen, animal requirements, growth patterns and market demands. This increased understanding will focus on fostering practice change and implementation along the program by building confidence under technical coaching and supportive peer network.

Objectives

Delivery of MLA’s Off the Shelf Profitable Grazing Systems (PGS) Supported Learning Package (SLP) ‘Grazing Matcher’ to five groups across Western Australia, the group locations are the following catchment regions:

  • Peel-Harvey
  • Geocatch
  • South West catchments
  • Oyster Harbour
  • Wilson Inlet.

Benefits to industry

The recent Producer Adoption Impact Assessment demonstrated on average, producers that participate in PGS SLP can expect an additional net benefit of $18/ha annually.
