Summary

Mentoring activity that will run over 12 months to train livestock advisor to be able to deliver the Profitable Grazing System Supported Learning Packages. Training provided for Pasture Principals and basic skills in coaching based learning for producers.

Objectives

In the PGS business plan, service provider engagement and capability to deliver were recognised as being critical to the success of the program, and currently lacking in some areas. MLA investment into training and support for the deliverer network was recommended to upskill service providers to ensure their ability to engage successfully with PGS (e.g. develop and deliver high quality, effective SLPs, recruit participants willing to pay, etc.), and through them to engage producers.

The nature of producer adoption programs, there are no key findings.

Benefits to industry

On average, producers who participate in the Profitable Grazing Systems program receive a return of $17.47/ha due to the adoption of new management practices.
