Summary

The consultant supports the development and further enhancement of MSA and Eating Quality programs.

Objectives

- input into strategic development of experimental design for nominated R&D plans and projects
- continual development and innovation of the MSA beef model
- provision of scientific and industry support to MSA.
- management and maintenance of the MSA R&D database as well as insight into the international database
- co-ordination and oversight of consumer sensory testing trials and analysis
- MSA Beef Pathways Committee attendance and secretariat service.

Key findings

- oversight of sensory testing domestically and internationally for R&D projects.
- review of results and outcomes of research for MSA and chairing of MSA Beef Pathways meeting for final recommendations.

Benefits to industry

The expertise provided by the consultant is extremely valuable to the industry to facilitate development of Australia’s MSA beef model and eating quality systems including consumer sensory protocols.
