Summary

Previous supply chain projects undertaken directly and in partnership with MLA have identified the cost benefit that the adoption of electronic meat transfer certificates (eMTC) would have on the meat industry. There currently are no AQIS and industry endorsed eMTC systems available to the meat industry. This project is intended to build on the work completed by MLA on the use of the EAN.UCC for supply chain efficiency and traceability (PRMS.031) to deliver cost effective EAN.UCC EANCOM messaging standards and tools for electronic meat transfer certificates.

Benefits to industry

Improvement of supply chain efficiency and traceability.
