Summary
In order to maintain a robust integrity program, this project was funded to monitor the use of the Meat Standards Australia (MSA) Trademark among MSA-licensed retail and supermarket outlets who have indicated to MLA's nominated third party auditors.
The project conducted onsite visits to verify the level of MSA trademark usage at 256 MSA Licensed Retailers and Supermarket outlets that have verbally indicated that they are not using the trademark.
Only 15 establishments were found to be misusing the MSA trademark, which is a good outcome for the integrity of the MSA program.
