Summary
The Australian AgriFood Data Exchange (AAFDX) project seeks to define and articulate the business case for investment in an industry owned data exchange with a vision to create 'an interconnected data highway for Australia’s AgriFood value chain. The purpose of the AAFDX is to provide a centralised mechanism for the exchange of data between participants in the agrifood value chain.
Objectives
The objective is to provide probity advisory services in relation to the Australian AgriFood Data Exchange program RFI process in the form of meeting involvement, advise on conflicts of interest management, review of documentation and a probity report including director review.
Key findings
The AAFDX will allow Agrifood industry data owners control over what data they would like to share and with whom. This will unlock potential opportunities with their data and enable collaboration across the supply chain.

MLA action
MLA has played the lead role in coordinating the co-investment funds and IP management for the project supporters of the AAFDX.
