Summary

Delivery of Ecorich Grazing’s Satellite Assisted Forage Budgeting supported learning project (SLP) to a group of rangeland graziers (QLD). The SLP has a focus on the feedbase curriculum.

Objectives

Delivery of approved SLP – Satellite Assisted Forage Budgeting Feedbase topics:
• managing seasonal variability
• optimal feed utilisation
• optimise feed grown
• identify gaps and take appropriate action.
The objectives of the project: Better align stocking rates with seasonal carrying capacity by upskilling and supporting rangeland graziers to apply an integrated combination of traditional on-ground methods and satellite remote sensing for forage budgeting and ground cover monitoring on their properties.

Key findings

Due to the nature of producer adoption program, there are no key findings

Benefits to industry

Profitable Grazing Systems impact that participating producers, on average receive a return of $17.47/ha due to the adoption of management practices.
