Summary

This project supported the capability building of other industry stakeholders through facilitating an Analytics for Industry workshop. Along with the workshop, the consultant supports the MSA program through independent statistical evaluation of the MSA program and research outcomes as identified.

Objectives

To deliver statistical training, through open courses, the industry operatives to develop the data handling/analysis skills of the meat processing and pastoral industries. The course is aimed at introducing participants to the possibilities that are available in data analysis and visualisation of data by providing them with basic R skills.
- Work with the MSA team, as required, to provide statistical expertise for MSA producer awards, Beef Eating Quality Insights Report, Business Development Toolbox to support supply chain analytics, as well as any other analytical queries for MSA data.
-Attendance to all MSA Beef and Sheepmeat Pathway Committee meetings.

Benefits to industry

The benefit to industry is the independent statistical evaluation of MSA research outcomes, which were utilised to discuss opportunities for the Meat Standards Australia Program. This project also supported the capability building of other industry stakeholders through data analysis training workshops.

MLA action

Following the statistical analysis of eating quality research, the eating quality outcomes were assessed at Beef and Sheep Pathway meetings to identify opportunities for the Meat Standards Australia Program.

Future research

MLA/MSA will need to continue to fund independent statistical analysis of eating quality research when it is completed.
