V.RDI.1021 - Romani Pastoral Digital Livestock 4.0 Management, Installation and Adoption Support

MLA has funded 15 technology companies to install over 200 IoT devices across three Romani properties, employing four different connectivity solutions (LoRaWan, Sigfox, 3G/4G and Satellite) with mostly successful data captured.

Summary

This project will appoint an experienced (Australia wide) consultant with hands-on professional farm business management experience to support the delivery of the Romani Pastoral Company Digital Livestock 4.0 Management installation and adoption for 2020 -2021.

Objectives

1. Assist in developing a scope of works with Romani Pastoral Co and MLA.
2. Co-develop tender documents.
3. Review tender responses.
4. Develop a program that blends the best of the tender responses, with Romani’s needs, Industry's needs and available budget.
5. Field and respond to pre-tender, post-tender and installation Q&As from Romani and solution providers.
6. Supervise installation and quality assurance of installations.
7. Assist Romani Pastoral to identify what is required on the reporting dashboards and oversee dashboard development.
8. Assist Romani Pastoral in using the system and developing the value proposition post installation.
9. Installation report and best practice guide.

Key findings

No research was conducted for this project, therefore there were no key findings.

Benefits to industry

The primary goal of this is project is to provide support to MLA’s Romani Pastoral Company (RPC) Digital Farm project – a smart farm demonstration site initially set up in 2019, used to create awareness of AgTech and connectivity options and drive productivity and decision making changes as part of MLA’s Digital Ag sub program objectives.
