Summary

There are estimated productivity gains associated with embracing digital agriculture, however those gains are not quantified, and without adequate connectivity, impossible to realise.

Meat and Livestock Australia have begun a series of research projects to investigate what the connectivity solutions for red meat producers could look like, how costly would tp.pshhey be and what business benefit could be derived from having connectivity.

March IT (amongst others) have been engaged to carry out a series of connectivity evaluation and design studies. These will allow accurate best case designs for the installation/investment of new telecommunications equipment.  March IT personnel will travel to site and document current services and processes, end user needs (what capabilities will be established once connectivity is improved), and outline the infrastructure required to enable business improvement and innovation on farm.

These results will be made available to producers in an appropriate, easy to use format.
