Summary

The purpose of this program is to develop, distribute and market educational materials toprimary school teachers and students, with the overall objective of increasing primary school students’ understanding of how beef and lamb are produced. Kimberlin will run a total of 13 virtual excursions for term 1 and 2, 2018. The Virtual Excursions are hosted by a school teacher and one of MLA's producer advocates allowing classrooms nationwide to tune into live video lessons and engage with the Aussie Farmers, while taking part in educational activities, quizzes and interacting with other schools. All resources are aligned to the Australian Science Curriculum and offer links to literacy, history and sustainability. In 2018 the Virtual Excursions will be using new technology (Zoom technology) to connect into schools which opens the lessons up to many more schools nationally that may not have had access to the previous video streaming technology (Dart Education).
