This project contributes to a research partnership to achieve the objectives for the overarching Project, "Advanced measurement technologies for globally competitive Australian meat" (ALMTech).  ALMTech consists of six programs, each with subprograms. An Operational Plan specifying the research activities to be completed is developed annually and submitted to the Department Of Agriculture. Personnel from Scott Automation and Robotics participate in ALMTech and deliver into Program 1 (Lean Meat Yield) with a focus on research to design prototype technology for the direct measurement of LMY in an abattoir (Program 1).   An output is a DEXA system installed at Teys Rockhampton abattoir for further research, calibration and validation.
