Summary
This event exposes over 500 competitors directly to the importance of market specifications and eating quality requirements through their preparation of livestock. As part of competition feedback all competitors and associated livestock producers are exposed to the use of the MLA Beef Specs Calculator as a useful tool in preparing livestock for specifications. They are also exposed to the requirements for MSA grading; the importance of the correct completion of the NVD and develop a direct relationship with associated industry organisations such as agents and butchers. As many exhibitors are students, the opportunity to commence their industry education in best practice and appreciation of industry standards.
