Successful farming of meat goats

Conducted by the Boer Goat Breeders Association of Australia This will be a one day Symposium targeted at existing meat goat producers and people interested in finding out more about breeding meat goats. Preamble: The Boer goat is a breed of goat that has been specifically bred for meat and is regarded as the world's premier meat goat. Goats which have a high percentage of Boer infusion are faster growing, have higher dressing percentages, and are heavier than other breeds. The market for goat meat has never been better. It is low in saturated fat and cholesterol and is growing in popularity and demand in both the domestic and export markets. Growing meat goats is ideally suited to both small and large scale farming, and meat goats offer diversification for farmers breeding other livestock.
