Summary
These projects were established to cover the cost of artificial insemination, on-farm management and on-farm data collection by the host property for the twenty lean meat yield (LMY) and eating quality (EQ) sites in the national research validation program (MLA project B.SCC.0144). Lambs were produced from sires selected for divergent research breeding values for LYM & EQ and slaughtered through collaborating supply chains where they were measured for a range of carcase characteristics, and had loin samples collected for laboratory analysis. These data are reported in the final report for B.SCC.0144.
