Summary

Animal Welfare Officer training is designed to provide feedlot personnel, who have responsibility for monitoring and supervising animal welfare practices throughout the operation, with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage, assess and audit animal welfare within a feedlot operation.
These projects enabled TAFE Queensland South West (TAFE), in conjunction with MLA, to provide Registered Training Organisation (RTO) services for delivery of the Animal Welfare Officer Skill Set training. MLA was responsible for the delivery of the skill set training, while TAFE assumed responsibility to validate, enrol and result participants, and issue statements of attainment on successful completion of the program.
