Summary
The Key Decision Point planner will allow producers to track and benchmark the key drivers of performance in their own enterprises. The tool will highlight skills and operations required of producers, for example body condition scoring, estimating Feed On Offer (FOO). This will in-turn, identify skill deficiencies that can be addressed by existing MLA programs and publications as part of the MLA challenge and beyond.
Visually, the tool will encompass the following:First Tier: A management calendar with the key operations for that enterprise.Second Tier: The Key Decision Points (KDP's) across the calendar of operations and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that need to be achieved at each of these points.Third Tier: The required Feed On Offer (FOO) that will achieve these KPI's and options to correct the position if marginal.It is envisaged that the tool be made available both in hard copy and online formats to cater for different market segments.
A Step By Step guide to how to operate the tool will be developed for use by competition participants and then having been trialed, can be refined for wider use.
