Summary

he CEO Business Summit that was held in Longreach in mid-August 2014 sought to seek ideas from chief executives outside the agricultural sector about how (fictitious property) Kidworth’s slide might have been averted, and also held a competition that encouraged others, from within agriculture and without, to present their own thoughts on a better business plan for the property.
The comprehensive case study of fictitious Kidworth Station, which over the past seven years of drought, poor cash flow and declining capital went from 100 per cent equity in 2007 to just 23pc equity in 2014.
The exercise was to see what could have the station’s (fictitious) owners, Rob and Marg Kidworth, done over those years to retain their equity position?
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) provided $3,000 cash (GST exclusive) to support/sponsor the event as well as in-kind support of $2,000.
