Summary
MLA was obliged to undertake strategic Animal Welfare RD&E to deliver significant industry benefits, as part of its obligations under the national Rural Research Priorities, the Meat Industry Strategic Plan (2010-2015), the National Primary Industries Research, Development and Extension Framework initiated by the Primary Industries Ministerial Council, and MLA's Strategic Plan (2010 - 2015). This project supported a consultant to write the initial five year Animal Welfare RD&E Investment Program and Plan 2011 - 2015 for MLA. A public version of this plan is available on request.
