Summary
The National Beef and Sheepmeat RD&E Strategies Consultative forum were held in Brisbane, Bendigo, Tamworth & Adelaide to provide RD&E agencies with clear direction on the long-term prioritisation and allocation of the resources (infrastructure, information and personnel) required to deliver the needs of the beef and sheepmeat production (on-farm) sectors.
Fortuitously, the development of the National Beef and Sheepmeat RD&E Strategies was parallel to the evolution of the Meat Industry Strategic Plan 2011-2014 (MISP3), the pre-eminent planning document for the red meat sector. While MISP3 sets out the high-level supply, consumer and community challenges and tactics for the red meat sector over the next 5 years, the National Beef & Sheepmeat RD&E Strategic Plans specifically seek to define the following:On-farm priority outcomes for the beef and sheepmeat industries in the long-term (next 20 years); and,The required or desired "deliverables" (products, services and processes) from RD&E in the short-term (5 years).
These projects covered the cost of participant travel, venue and equipment hire - in relation to the National Beef and Sheep meat RD&E Strategies Consultative Forum in Brisbane, Bendigo, Tamworth and Adelaide.
