Updated climate outlook

03 October 2018

The Bureau of Meteorology’s recently updated October to December outlook points to drier-than-average conditions for the majority of production regions

The BOM’s latest weather outlook suggests below-average rainfall is more likely across the majority of production regions during October, with the exception of some areas east of the Great Dividing Range.

For the October to December period, climate models show no strong indication of a drier or wetter period for drought-stricken NSW. Climate drivers suggests drier-than-average conditions are more likely elsewhere across the country. Combined with the prediction of warmer weather during this period, the forecast suggests an alleviation of the current drought situation is unlikely for eastern Australia.
