Wednesday daily sheep summary

There was an increase in overall sheep and lamb numbers at Ballarat, with 28,132 head yarded. Heavy weight lambs were well supplied and sold to more interest.
- Light weight 2 score lambs to restockers were 22¢ higher on 546¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score lambs to slaughter were 19¢ dearer on 561¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 and 4 score lambs to slaughter ranged from 509¢ to 567¢kg cwt
- Extra heavy weight 4 score lambs to slaughter were unchanged on 502¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino lambs lifted 8¢ to average 316¢, while heavy weight 3 and 4 score first cross ewes eased 5¢ to 7¢ to average around 270¢/kg cwt
Numbers lifted to 32,850 head of sheep and lambs at Forbes. The market started off well, however weakened as the sale progressed.
- Trade weight 3 score lambs to slaughter were 6¢ dearer on 511¢, while the 4 scores gained 5¢ to average 531¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score lambs to slaughter lifted 14¢ to settle on 545¢/kg cwt
- Extra heavy weight 4 score lambs to slaughter gained 5¢ to 524¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score Merino ewes lifted 24¢ to 350¢, while medium weight 3 scores increased 16¢ to 347¢/kg cwt
At the close of Tuesday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator increased 2¢ to 549¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs lost 2¢ to 495¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs were up 8¢ to 526¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs were up 3¢, to 537¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs increased 5¢ to 534¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator was 8¢ dearer on 311¢/kg cwt
