Friday daily sheep summary

Number declined by 24% at Wagga to total 32,000 head week-on-week. Quality was very good over new season lambs categories, with plenty of lambs showing the spring conditions. Old trade and heavy lamb were limited and not all buyers participated. It was a very good offering of sheep, with greater numbers of medium and heavy sheep.
- Trade weight 3 score new season lambs were 21¢ dearer and averaged 558¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score new season lambs jumped 22¢, averaging 547¢/kg cwt
- Heavy 3 score first cross ewes were 13¢ dearer, settling on 347¢/kg cwt
At the close of Thursday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator averaged 22¢ dearer on 627¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs were steady, on 507¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs averaged 546¢, back 1¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs settled 4¢ higher on 551¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs were up 3¢, on 539¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator gained 2¢ to average 363¢/kg cwt
