Friday daily sheep summary

Lamb throughput at Wagga declined 18% week-on-week, to 34,500 head, with the reduced supply supporting prices for well-finished lines. Supplementary fed trade weight lambs were keenly sought after, while heavy export weights met solid demand. Restocker buyers were more selective in their purchases.
Sheep consignments were down 8% on week-ago levels, to 8,550 head. It was a mixed quality offering, with all weights and grades represented.
- Light weight 2 score Merino lambs lifted 21¢ on 544¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score lambs jumped 71¢ on 589¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score lambs were 55¢ dearer on 573¢/kg cwt
- Extra heavy 4 score lambs increased 37¢ on 550¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes were up 22¢ on 402¢/kg cwt
At the close of Thursday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator fell 8¢ on the previous day, on 535¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs were up 16¢ on 514¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs lifted 7¢ on 543¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs increased 18¢ on 560¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs were 13¢ dearer on 555¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator edged 3¢ higher on 348¢/kg cwt
