Thursday daily sheep summary

Supply overall eased, with 11,450 head of sheep and lamb supplied at CTLX.
- Trade weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter were 5¢ dearer on 505¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score lambs to slaughter gained 30¢ to average 546¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score lambs to slaughter were 2¢ higher on 525¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score Merino ewes gained 43¢ to 257¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes slipped 6¢ to 273¢, while heavy weight first cross 4 score ewes eased 6¢ to 251¢/kg cwt
Lamb supply eased to 8,711 head at Hamilton. Lamb quality continues to be mixed, with some lines of plainer, light lambs yarded, due to the dry season and some good trade and heavy weight shorn lambs, suited to domestic markets.
- Light weight 2 score young lambs to restockers were 29¢ cheaper on 557¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 1 score lambs to restockers averaged 493¢, while those 2 score lines to slaughter were 29¢ lower on 535¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score lambs gained 8¢ to average 548¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 scores to slaughter eased 10¢ to 526¢/kg cwt
At the close of Wednesday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator slipped 7¢ to 551¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs gained 2¢ to 492¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs lost 4¢ to 523¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs were up 2¢, at 527¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs increased 1¢ to 522¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator was 2¢ cheaper on 302¢/kg cwt
