Vic weekly sheep summary

Lamb
Victorian lamb supply jumped 58%, with 29,255 head penned. The rise was mostly attributed to a flush of young lambs, particularly at Bendigo.
- Ballarat supply lifted 7% to 4,302 head
- Bendigo consigned nearly double week-on-week, with 14,584 head yarded
- Hamilton yardings increased 18%, to 2,103 head
- Horsham yardings eased 4%, to 4,620 head
Light weight 2 score young lambs to restockers averaged 679¢, while those to slaughter were 18¢ dearer on 610¢/kg cwt. Trade weight 3 score lambs to slaughter eased 3¢ to 607¢, while first cross lines gained 5¢ to 593¢/kg cwt. Heavy weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter decreased 23¢ to average 604¢/kg cwt.
Mutton
Sheep supply was 3% lower week-on-week, with 21,588 head yarded.
- Ballarat and Hamilton supply lifted 70% and 18%, to 4,917 head and 2,103 head, respectively.
- Horsham and Bendigo consigned 4% and 22% fewer sheep, with 4,620 head and 9,948 head yarded.
Light weight 2 score Merino ewes gained 11¢ to 388¢/kg cwt. Medium weight 2 score Merino ewes decreased 8¢ to 371¢, while the 3 score lines lifted 6¢ to average 393¢/kg cwt. Heavy weight 3 score first cross ewes eased 10¢ to 337¢, while heavy weight 4 score lines lost 11¢ to settle on 328¢/kg cwt.
