Tuesday daily sheep summary

Bendigo lamb yardings increased 68% week-on-week, to 21,906 head, following last week’s short trading week. Numbers were boosted with several large consignments of store lambs.
Sheep consignments increased 70% to 13,645 head, with a good selection of heavy weights.
- Light weight 2 score young lambs to restocker lifted 26¢ to 517¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score first cross young lambs gained 23¢ on 467¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score first cross young lambs jumped 30¢, to average 467¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 2 score Merino ewes increased 17¢, on 326¢/kg cwt
Lamb numbers at Dubbo declined 15% week-on-week, to 11,470 head. Quality was fair, and the selection of well-finished trade and heavy weight lambs was limited.
Mutton throughput jumped 61% week-on-week, to 9,130 head. Quality was good, although most grades sold to a cheaper trend.
- Trade weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter gained 17¢ to average 554¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score young lambs rose 38¢, to average 560¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score old season Merino lambs increased 61¢ to 504¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score Merino ewes fell 68¢, on 345¢/kg cwt
At the conclusion of Monday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator gained 7¢, on 526¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs averaged 459¢, up 4¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs averaged 488¢, up 5¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs averaged 511¢/kg cwt, steady
- The heavy lamb indicator averaged 504¢, up 2¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator finished on 331¢/kg cwt, back 2¢/kg cwt
