Tuesday daily sheep summary

Lamb consignments at Dubbo were down 16%, to 25,950 head, and a large proportion of the crossbred lambs presented in dry condition and carrying burrs. Merinos were well-supplied. Restocker buyers were active.
Sheep throughput lifted 23%, to 11,720 head, and there was a good selection of well-finished sheep on offer, along with a fair number of plainer quality lines.
- New season light weight 2 score lambs were up 66¢ on 510¢/kg cwt
- New season trade weight 3 score lambs increased 52¢ on 523¢/kg cwt
- Old season trade weight 3 score Merino lambs lifted 43¢ and averaged 441¢/kg cwt
- Old season heavy weight 4 score lambs were 60¢ dearer on 519¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes were up 22¢ on 333¢/kg cwt
At Bendigo, lamb supply was 38% lower, at 15,039 head, comprising mostly of lambs in store condition, showing dryness in the skin. Good quality trade and extra heavy weight lambs were limited. Demand for new season lambs was stronger, however, with those to processor orders selling to a dearer trend.
Sheep numbers were back 16%, to 8,664 head, and the market was dearer across most grades.
- New season light weight 2 score lambs to restockers were up 41¢ on 510¢/kg cwt
- New season trade weight 3 score lambs fell 4¢ on 466¢/kg cwt
- New season heavy weight 3 score lambs increased 15¢ and averaged 466¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 2 score Merino ewes lifted 13¢ on 275¢/kg cwt
At the close of Monday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator was 8¢ higher on 516¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs lifted 13¢ on 399¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs increased 13¢ on 444¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs were up 8¢ on 480¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs gained 4¢ on 472¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator was 7¢ dearer on 291¢/kg cwt
