Tuesday daily sheep summary

Lamb consignments at Dubbo lifted 15% week-on-week, to 13,179 head, with shorn Merino lambs making up the majority of the offering. All of the usual buyers attended, although not all operated in the slightly dearer market. Restocker activity was minimal.
Sheep throughput was 11% lower, at 8,155 head, and most categories sold to a dearer trend.
- Light weight 2 score young Dorper lambs were up 12¢ on 558¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score young Dorper lambs slipped 26¢ on 593¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score old season lambs lost 21¢ on 567¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score old season lambs jumped 52¢ and averaged 595¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes gained 46¢ on 364¢/kg cwt
Lamb numbers at Bendigo were back 18%, at 17,870 head, with a limited supply of well-finished trade and heavy weights on offer. Not all of the regular export and domestic buyers were active.
Sheep offerings increased 15%, to 15,700 head, and were made up mostly of ewes, with Merino wethers in short supply.
- Light weight 2 score young lambs to restockers eased 1¢ on 502¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score young lambs lifted 22¢ to average 489¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score young lambs were 11¢ dearer on 506¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 2 score Merino ewes slipped 5¢ on 322¢/kg cwt
At the close of Monday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator increased 6¢ on 549¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs lifted 13¢ on 472¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs were up 4¢ on 496¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs were 3¢ higher on 505¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs gained 1¢ on 504¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator was 2¢ dearer on 337¢/kg cwt
