Thursday daily sheep summary

Lamb supply at CTLX was mostly steady, at 3,450 head and there were a few lines of well-finished young lambs. Mutton supply slipped to 1,200 head and most Merino sheep were in plain condition.
- Light weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter were 3¢ higher on 556¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score young lambs to slaughter slipped 15¢ to 546¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score old Merino lambs lifted 1¢ to 459¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score old lambs to slaughter were 29¢ cheaper on 525¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score old lambs to slaughter eased 25¢ to 545¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score first cross ewes slipped 30¢ to 296¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score restocker Merino wethers decreased 28¢ to average 363¢/kg cwt
There was a decrease in lamb supply at Hamilton, to 1,504 head and quality was plain. Sheep supply also eased, to 1,770 head with some excellent Merino wethers and crossbred ewes yarded.
- Light weight 2 score old lambs to slaughter gained 3¢ to 578¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score old lambs to slaughter slipped 18¢ to 576¢/kg cwt
- Light weight 2 score Merino ewes decreased 21¢ to 340¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 2 score first cross ewes eased 10¢ to 349¢, while heavy weight 3 scores were 41¢ cheaper on 329¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 2 score Merino wethers decreased 8¢ to 374¢/kg cwt
At the conclusion of Wednesday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator was 20¢ lower on 577¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs slipped 1¢ to 519¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs decreased 4¢ to 537¢/kg cwt
- The Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) eased 2¢ to 574¢/kg cwt
- The heavy lamb indicator was unchanged on 571¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator lifted 1¢ to 385¢/kg cwt
