NSW weekly sheep summary

Lambs
Lamb consignments throughout NSW slipped by 30% week-on-week, for a total of 73,728 head.
- Dubbo lost 38%, for a total of 16,012 head, as Tamworth halved its total, to pen 1,725 lambs.
- Forbes slipped by 42%, at 20,041 lambs, with CTLX penning 20% fewer lambs for 6,300 head.
- Wagga lost 25% and offered 24,050 lambs.
- Cootamundra continued its fortnightly market and yarded 5,600 lambs.
New season trade weight lambs sold firm to $5 dearer, as prices ranged from $128 to $152/head, or an average price from 618¢ to 640¢/kg cwt.
Trade weight older lambs sold $3 to $4 dearer, making from $98 to $148/head and attained an average price from 578¢ to 595¢/kg cwt.
Heavy weight lambs lifted by $5 to $6, to sell from $128 to $194/head, or an average price of 594¢/kg cwt.
The best of the heavy weight Merino lambs sold from $138 to $145/head, and recorded an estimated average price from 524¢ to 565¢/kg cwt.
Mutton
Sheep numbers also slipped by 30% week-on-week for a total of 22,038 head.
- Dubbo penned 4,682 sheep, as Tamworth offered 775 head.
- CTLX yarded 2,200 head, while Forbes penned 4,231 sheep.
- Wagga consigned 5,450 head, with Cootamundra offering 4,700 sheep.
Sheep trended $3 dearer, with the medium and heavy weights selling from $60 to $150/head, and recorded an average price from 381¢ to 470¢/kg cwt.
