NSW weekly sheep summary

Lambs
Lamb consignments throughout NSW slipped 26% week-on-week, for a total of 86,532 head.
- Dubbo decreased by 35% for a total of 25,470 head
- Tamworth slipped by 27% for 2,500 lambs
- Forbes eased 32% and penned 20,831 head
- CTLX lost 40% to total 3,350 lambs
- Wagga penned 35% fewer lambs to yard 18,000 head
- Corowa slipped 2% compared to last week and totalled 6,975 lambs
- Cootamundra continued its fortnightly market to offer 3,347 head
New season trade weight lambs trended $4 to $8 dearer, making from $115 to $164/head, or an average price from 596c to 629¢/kg cwt.
Trade weight older lambs lifted $3 to $4, ranging from $100 to $158/head and attained an average price from 564¢ to 592¢/kg cwt.
The heavy weight lambs sold firm to $3 dearer, to sell from $128 to $206/head, or an average price from 572¢ to 605¢/kg cwt.
The best of the heavy weight Merino lambs sold from $124 to $143/head and averaged around the 547¢/kg cwt.
Sheep
Sheep numbers declined 22% week-on-week, for a total of 24,854 head.
- Dubbo penned 6,155 sheep, as Tamworth offered 1,000 head
- CTLX yarded 1,575 head, while Forbes penned 3,556 sheep
- Wagga consigned 7,000 head, with Corowa offering 2,753 sheep, as Cootamundra penned 1,400 head
Sheep averaged $3 to $5 dearer, with the medium and heavy weights selling from $60 to $137/head, or an estimated average for the better finished end of 375¢ to 434¢/kg cwt.
