NLRS now reporting Corowa sheep and lamb sale, NSW

Commencing this week, the National Livestock Reporting Service (NLRS) will now report Corowa sheep and lamb sale in NSW.
Lamb numbers were back slightly this week, to 7,882 head, and quality was good. There was a fair percentage of well finished trade and heavy lambs offered, and Merino lambs were also in reasonable numbers. Light secondary lambs, both crossbreds and Merinos, were also penned. All the usual buyers operated in a dearer trending market.
- The few pens of new season trade lambs ranged from $123 to $149/head
- Medium weight old trade lambs ranged from $94, for shorn lambs, to $141/head
- Heavy lambs ranged from $137 to $162/head, averaging between 580¢ and 610¢/kg cwt
- Extra heavy weight lambs made to $186/head
- Light Merinos to the trade sold from $67 to $103
- Trade weight Merinos sold between $98 and $139/head
Mutton numbers were also reduced, at 2,604 head, and quality was again quite good. Merinos were best supplied, along with some heavy crossbred ewes. Wethers were in short supply.
- Medium weight ewes sold from $85 to $115/head
- Heavy crossbred ewes reached $148.60/head
- Heavy Merino wethers returned $134/head, with most averaging 380¢ to 420¢/kg cwt
