Friday daily sheep summary

Lamb consignments at Wagga were up 14% week-on-week, to 25,000 head, with secondary quality young lambs making up the majority of the yarding. Young trade weight lambs were in shorter supply and attracted steady competition.
Sheep throughput was 8% lower, at 11,000 head. Heavy sheep sold to strong demand, while not all buyers operated over light and medium weight categories.
- Light weight young 2 score lambs to restockers lifted 33¢ on 608¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight young 3 score lambs eased 2¢ on 548¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight young 3 score lambs were up 3¢ and averaged 543¢/kg cwt
- Extra heavy young 4 score lambs slipped 5¢ on 499¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 4 score crossbred ewes were 9¢ lower and averaged 284¢/kg cwt
At the close of Thursday’s markets:
- the eastern states restocker lamb indicator was 9¢ dearer on 543¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs lost 2¢ on 461¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs were steady on 491¢/kg cwt
- The Eastern States Trade Lamb Indicator (ESTLI) was back 3¢ on 502¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs lifted 1¢ on 503¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator increased 2¢ on 334¢/kg cwt
