Friday daily sheep summary

Lamb consignments at Wagga were similar week-on-week, at 25,000 head, in a fair quality yarding with secondary quality lambs making up the majority of the offering. The usual group of buyers attended, and restockers were active, while not all major domestic processors operated.
Sheep throughput was down 9%, to 10,000 head, and heavy crossbred ewes sold to strong competition.
- Light weight 3 score young lambs to restockers lifted 6¢ on 530¢/kg cwt
- Trade weight 3 score young lambs were up 5¢ and averaged 552¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score young lambs were unchanged on 544¢/kg cwt
- Extra heavy weight 4 score lambs slipped 5¢ on 495¢/kg cwt
- Heavy weight 3 score Merino ewes gained 6¢ and averaged 320¢/kg cwt
At the close of Thursday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator eased 3¢ on 548¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs fell 14¢ on 464¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs were back 1¢ on 511¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs were unchanged on 517¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs were unchanged on 522¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator declined 2¢ on 331¢/kg cwt
