Friday daily sheep summary

Lamb consignments at Wagga were back 36% week-on-week, to 18,000 head, due to heavy rain in the supply region. Quality was very good overall, with more than half of the yarding consisting of new season lambs.
Sheep throughput declined 11%, to 7,000 head, and it was a much plainer quality yarding, with a fair percentage of lighter weights penned.
- New season light weight 3 score lambs averaged 605¢/kg cwt
- New season trade weight 3 score lambs jumped 67¢ and averaged 652¢/kg cwt
- New season heavy weight 3 score lambs were up 48¢ on 646¢/kg cwt
- New season extra heavy weight 4 score lambs gained 36¢ on 617¢/kg cwt
- Old season light weight 3 score lambs lifted 57¢ on 579¢/kg cwt
- Old season trade weight 3 score Merino lambs increased 53¢ on 568¢/kg cwt
- Old season heavy weight 3 score lambs climbed 50¢ on 621¢/kg cwt
- Old season extra heavy weight 4 score lambs were 19¢ dearer and averaged 595¢/kg cwt
- Medium weight 3 score Merino ewes lifted 31¢ on 397¢/kg cwt
At the close of Thursday’s markets:
- The eastern states restocker lamb indicator was up 2¢ on 573¢/kg cwt
- Merino lambs were 16¢ higher on 523¢/kg cwt
- Light lambs gained 14¢ on 545¢/kg cwt
- Trade lambs climbed 14¢ on 594¢/kg cwt
- Heavy lambs increased 9¢ on 596¢/kg cwt
- The mutton indicator was 4¢ dearer and finished on 380¢/kg cwt
