MLA and ALFA workshops

Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA) have a number of industry specific workshops available in 2021.   

A pen cleaning, manure and environmental management workshop is currently underway looking at the waste management utilisation manual with the purpose of enhancing the health and welfare of grain fed cattle. Presenters Rod Davis, Roby Tucker, Joe McMeniman and lot feeders will speak on a range of topics involving managing manure, maintenance, planning and operations.

Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and The Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA) run a number of industry specific workshops, events, and training annually, aimed at upskilling the Australian lot feeding workforce.

Upcoming workshops

Exploring feedlot energy
24 March 2021 (1.5-hour session)

This online workshop will cover how to improve feedlot energy and water use efficiency including using technologies available to feedlot owners and feed mill teams.

12 May 2021 (2-hour session)
This online workshop will explore recent research findings related to the feedlot industry's carbon emissions and our journey to becoming carbon neutral, methane emissions and the national greenhouse gas inventory.
