Livestock Advisor Updates: upcoming events

02 November 2021

The Livestock Advisor Updates working group has developed an informative program of workshops across Australia to support advisors to keep up to date with the latest developments in the red meat industry.

Earlier this year we postponed the Melbourne and Dubbo Livestock Advisor Updates (LAU) workshops from August to November due to COVID restrictions, however the situation in both NSW and Victoria has meant we cannot go ahead with face-to-face events.

The good news is that the LAU working group has developed an online event that combines both the Melbourne and Dubbo workshops into one webinar that is to be held on 16 November 2021.

The Brisbane workshop is set to go ahead as a face-to-face event at the Mantra on Queen on 29 November 2021.

The Livestock Advisor Updates webinars and face-to-face events have established themselves as the go-to events for leading livestock industry professionals to receive regionally tailored, advisor-relevant technical updates.

The face-to-face program has been refined to ensure that it will be as interactive and informative as possible in the online format. Going online provides an easy opportunity for professionals across southern Australia to participate.

“As a farm business advisor, it is certainly in my interest and my clients’ interest, that I improve my base knowledge. Well done organisers and presenters. An excellent day.”

Registrations are now open for the Livestock Advisor Updates southern online and Brisbane events. The southern event will be ‘Unpacking livestock production’ with topics including maximising the good times we are currently experiencing in the livestock industry, best practice pain relief and a panel of experts on carbon farming discussing what’s real and what’s not. ‘Tactics and tools for top livestock businesses’ will be the theme for Brisbane, with topics such as supporting clients to apply critical thinking to their decision making, raising client confidence for using EBVs, how to use the MSA index, and key aspects to have on your radar for setting carbon goals for livestock businesses.
