Five reasons you don’t want to miss this year’s evokeAG. event in Brisbane
05 February 2025
For Australia’s agrifood sector, AgriFutures evokeAG. is the not-to-be missed event where technology, bold ideas and agriculture converge.
Come along to hear from industry leaders as they debate the most pressing issues and trends shaping the sector, learn from the experiences of other producers, and explore how technology can help drive your operation forward.
This year’s event will be held on 18–19 February 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Here are five reasons to join us at evokeAG. 2025:
1. Blue sky ideas to future-proof Australian agriculture
Bringing together the brightest minds and fresh ideas, evokeAG. explores the role of innovation to propel Australian agriculture towards its ambition to be a $100 billion industry by 2030 while tackling some of the greatest opportunities and challenges facing food and fibre production.
As traceability becomes more important for buyers, will every product eventually have a unique identifier? What does the meteoric rise of weight loss drugs mean for future consumption? And how do we increase nutrition and production, while addressing growing environmental concerns?
Hear from the innovators leading the charge – turning waste into feed and fertilisers, harnessing AI to identify disease, and using facial recognition technology to transform livestock and invasive species management.
2. Producers tell all – the good, the challenges and the opportunities
The evokeAG. program is not just about our future – we’ll hear from the producers, processors, retailers and other parts of our agrifood supply chain using innovation to shape their businesses today.
Producers on this year's program include:
- Mike Casey – creating the world's first 100% electric, zero fossil fuel orchard
- Luke Chaplain – improving livestock management with drones
- Carly Burnham – combining livestock production with agroforestry and carbon farming
- Grant Sims – boosting crop production with mixed species and biological fertilisers
- Bren Smith – using 3D models for growing seafood.
Learn from producers’ tell-all experiences about the technology they're using. From “figuring out how to turn the darn thing on” to now, we'll hear how they've integrated technology into their business to improve efficiency, profitability and management.
3. Take a walk through Startup Alley
Discover emerging and advancing ag-tech and innovation, with over 50 startups and scaleups travelling from all over the world to evokeAG. From autonomous tractors to vertical farming and AI-powered bird deterrents, there’s something for everyone in our exhibition area – The Common.
Make the most of demonstrations, displays, and the chance to chat to the innovators behind these groundbreaking innovations.
4. Catch up with familiar faces, and meet new ones
Representatives from the world’s most dynamic and successful agrifood producers, retailers and investors will be at evokeAG. to share their insights as part of the two-day program and its sideline events.
We’ll explore beyond Australian shores, with international guest speakers delving into the market trends, regulatory frameworks and environmental factors that are driving technological advances overseas.
Take the opportunity to catch up with members of Meat & Livestock Australia’s Digital Agriculture team to learn how they’re helping drive adoption of on-farm innovation and data analytics.
Come along to hear MLA’s Managing Director, Michael Crowley, in a fireside chat with Professor Peter McGilchrist, a leading expert in meat science, as they discuss the bold innovations shaping the red meat and livestock industry’s future.
The team from Integrity Systems Company will also be there, ready to share the progress they’re making to improve Australia’s red meat traceability system across projects such as the NLIS Database Uplift Project.
You’ll also be able to catch up with familiar faces, with representatives from the livestock, horticulture, grains, cotton, fisheries and other primary industries on site.
The crowd-favourite Welcome Event and the Festival of Food present the opportunity to kick back with other event attendees whilst you contemplate the day’s discussions.
5. We put the mic in your hands
This year’s evokeAG. will shake up the usual conference format, handing over the mic to the crowd to ask the tough questions of the panellists.
This is your chance to hear diverse perspectives on topics related to the event’s four focal threads – Economics & Trade, Innovation & Future Technology, Sustainability and Environment, Workforce & Skills Gap.
Coming together under the event theme, Common Ground, these discussions are intended to spark new ideas for the future of Australian agriculture and farming businesses.
